These festival FAQS will help you make the most of your EXPEDITION experience.
THE EXPEDITION TICKET
THE EXPEDITION TICKET is your registration fee and your entry to the festival, and to all events paid and free. EVENT FEES, on the other hand, are for individual events; fees vary and are listed within the description of the SPECIFIC EVENT along with the pricing options, for special add-ons such as providing you with a kayak or bike.
The registration deadline for each event is provided in the online events section. For most events you can register up until the day prior, but some exceptions apply. Don’t miss out! Get Registered!
ALL-EXPEDITION (Multi-Day) TICKET–good April 3-13 Adult $15.00; Age 12 & under: FREE
The Multi-Day EXPEDITION TICKET option is a big bargain–and we know, like potato chips, you won’t be able to stop with just one event after your first taste.
Print out your TICKET after you register–it will arrive in your email confirm. If you lose your TICKET, don’t worry, you can reprint or we can look you up when you arrive at your venue.
Before you can start getting tickets for events, you need to register for your Expedition Ticket here.
You can register up to 4 people under a single account, and you’ll only be able to purchase as many individual event tickets as people you have registered.
It is expected that some events will fill up fast. All events—including free events—have a maximum number.
REGISTERING FOR INDIVIDUAL EVENTS
Individual events are planned to deliver maximum value, and because of that, many are very small groups. If you bring your own kayak, it is a different cost than when you need to use one of the kayaks available from an event leader or venue, as an example. What is covered by an Event Fees is detailed in online in each event, including when extras are INCLUDED in the fee.
To participate in the FREE Events, you need (A.) an EXPEDITION TICKET and (B.) be signed up and on the ROSTER for that particular FREE Event. Even the FREE Events have maximum participants allowed.

Most social events are free to attend, if you are a registered participant. Some social gatherings, however, are simply recommended restaurants or places of interest near the point and time at which your event ends. These are simply suggested gathering points, where you are likely to find other participants–or may be a point which you want to suggest as a logical place to meet up, in case your group has elected multiple event options that day.
EMAIL REMINDERS AND REAL TIME ALERTS
Because this is a moving festival, the participant group is not at the same place at the same time; in fact you will all be extremely mobile. We thought about that. We will help you stay connected to what’s happening in the festival, north, south and wherever you are, by:
–posting happenings daily on the website,
–keeping the conversation going on our facebook and twitter pages
–using email to keep our experts informed
–putting you on the list too, for alerts or reminders during the day or about an upcoming social event or a keynote speaker or other important happening you won’t want to miss.
Your smart phone, iPad or other electronic device will be a good tool to have. If you simply must be ‘off the grid’ when you travel or you don’t have a device that can go with you in a kayak, as an example, our expert leaders will also be updating you, from this information. Beyond the electronic updates, we will have a dedicated HELP LINE during Expedition dates.
THE RIGHT SUPPLIES WHEN YOU NEED THEM
If you are an avid outdoors adventurer, you already know to include sunscreen and insect repellent, a hat and the appropriate clothing and gear for your sport(s), event(s) or trek(s).
But under the REGISTER link, each event description includes some specific tips on what to bring.
Descriptions also include info about what is provided and in some cases include options with different pricing structures. For example, if you bring a kayak, your price is different than the paddlers who don’t.
Limited quantities of equipment are available, so be certain to register early.
CAN I REGISTER MORE THAN ONE PERSON? CAN I REGISTER A GROUP?
Yes, you can add registrant names to your registration and book a group. The maximum number you can book with a single registration ONLINE is 4.
Some events will fill fast, making it more challenging to register a group. Some options can be added to the schedule, time and guides permitting, so your early inquiry may net you an option. For special requests of this nature, or for a group larger than 4, email: email@example.com
We have tried to answer your questions in the online registration, foe each event. For every hike we have included a descripion of the terrain and provided the distance you will walk. We do have events that require you to be fit or to be able to do a certain particular physical thing. One example is standup paddleboarding, which requires you to be able to go from a kneeling to a standing position. In every case, the start and end time of the event is posted, so you will also know approximately how long you will be out in the Florida sun.
PHOTO RELEASE/USE OF PHOTOS
BWCE photographers/volunteers will take photos during the EXPEDITION time period and events and reserve the right to use the photographs in future promotion of the festival, the Brevard Nature Alliance and the marketing of the Space Coast destination. If you do not want to give us permission to use your photo for promoting the festival or future festivals and events or the Space Coast destination, email: firstname.lastname@example.org
HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN PARTICIPATE IN AN EVENT?
Each event has a MAXIMUM number of participants. Groups are kept small, so the experience is personal. Different events have different maximums, set by the tour operators and expert leaders and is noted in the online registration. If there is no longer an opening, you will be informed during the registration process.
IF AN EVENT IS CANCELLED
Most of the EXPEDITION events have minimum group sizes established for each specific event. If any event does not meet the minimum requirement for participants 24 hours before the start, the event will be cancelled. Participants will be notified and refunds will be issued within 30 days. If a participant registers for only one event and that event is cancelled, his or her EXPEDITION Ticket charge will also be refunded.
In the event you must cancel:
- Following April 1, 2014, no refunds will be given.
- Sorry, Expedition Ticket and Event Fee combination totaling less than $50/per person are non-refundable; and all proceeds will be donated to the Brevard Nature Alliance.
- Refunds in excess of $50/person will be provided, less a $15.00 cancellation fee per attendee in the cancellation group, for cancellation requests received in writing to: email@example.com by April 1, 2014.
- Change of date by attendees for events will be accommodated if possible, as a courtesy. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 321-268-5224. Refund policies above apply, if no accommodation can be found.
No Refunds will be processed until the event has ended.
WHY DO YOU ASK SO MANY QUESTIONS WHEN I REGISTERED?
Well, just like any other undertaking, we have to prove what we are doing has some value to the community. Your answers to our questions help us profile the EXPEDITION event–analyzing from your information–what is important about this outdoor festival event on Florida’s Space Coast, who cares about this kind of offer, and what we can do next year that helps the EXPEDITION grow. You know the drill. We need statistics and anecdotal successes to drive actions.
